Russian police say 4 gunmen killed over Dagestan attacks

Police have “eliminated” four gunmen who killed at least eight people during attacks on religious buildings and the security forces, interior ministry officials in Russia’s North Caucasus region of Dagestan said Sunday.

“According to information at this moment in Makhachkala, law enforcement offices have eliminated four fighters,” the interior ministry’s spokeswoman wrote on Telegram. Attacks have been ongoing in Dagestan since early evening, killing six police, a member of the national guard and a priest.
