Hunter Biden Indicted On Three Federal Gun Charges After Failed Plea Deal – Anthony Brian Logan

Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, has been formally indicted on three federal gun charges. These charges relate back to his 2018 purchase of a firearm. The allegations are that he lied on his background check and possessed the weapon while under the influence of illicit drugs. Lying on a background check is a federal offense that carries a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. If Hunter is convicted on all three counts, he faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.

This action was brought about by Special Counsel David Weiss. Weiss was the spearhead behind the infamous plea deal for Hunter that ultimately fell apart in court. The deal would have included misdemeanor tax evasion charges, federal gun charges, and immunity from some future charges. The judge who was presented with the plea bargain to sign off on began to ask questions upon receiving it. The main question was if Hunter was still under investigation. Hunter’s team could not answer the questions appropriately, therefore the plea deal fell through. Instead of Hunter pleading guilty, he pleaded innocent. Now, he is facing federal gun charges.

The timing of the indictment against Hunter Biden couldn’t be worse for his father, President Joe Biden. There is a mounting movement within the Democratic Party to replace the 80-year-old President with someone else for the 2024 Presidential campaign. Democratic Party allies in Washington are publicly saying what they have been saying behind closed doors for years. Biden is old and unfit to serve another four years. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre stated that Biden would not pardon Hunter. However, if Hunter is convicted, the President may be compelled to renege on Jean-Pierre’s word. That is, of course, if the Democratic party allows him to press forward as the President. Which is looking more and more unlikely.
