President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi declared last year that if Trump were to return to the White House, she would work to eliminate the “deep state” from the U.S. Department of Justice and ensure accountability.
Her nomination as U.S. Attorney General by President-elect Trump sends a clear signal: the Justice Department will undergo a seismic shift in its priorities, with a renewed focus on accountability for those who, Bondi says, have weaponized the justice system for political gain.

In 2023, Bondi didn’t mince words in her appearance on Fox News following Trump’s fourth indictment.
“When Republicans take back the White House, you know what’s going to happen? The Department of Justice, the prosecutors will be prosecuted, the bad ones,” Bondi said.
“The investigators will be investigated because the deep state, last term for President Trump, they were hiding in the shadows, but now they have a spotlight on them, and they can all be investigated.”
AG nominee Pam Bondi has said that the bad prosecutors at the DOJ will be prosecuted and the investigators will be investigated.

Bondi’s fiery rhetoric has long resonated with conservatives, particularly during moments of intense political scrutiny against Trump.
