Emhoff Claims Kamala Harris Hits Cowards ‘Head On’ After Dodging Trump Debate
Vice President Kamala Harris deals with cowards “head on” and can “smell weakness,” her husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, said on Tuesday during the Democrat National Convention (DNC) in Chicago. However, Harris has dodged debating her opponent in the presidential race, former President Donald Trump.
“Kamala is as tough as it comes — just ask the criminals, the global gangsters, and the witnesses before the Senate Judiciary Committee. She never runs from a fight,” Emhoff said.
“And she knows the best way to deal with a coward is to take him head on. Because we all know cowards are weak, and Kamala Harris can smell weakness. She doesn’t tolerate any BS. You’ve all seen that look and you know that look I’m talking about,” he added.
On Monday, Trump said he would participate in a “tele-town hall” with Fox News after Harris reportedly said she would not take part in a debate on September 4th, according to Breitbart News.
He wrote on Truth Social:
Comrade Kamala Harris has just informed us that she will NOT do the FoxNews Debate on September 4th. I am not surprised by this development because I feel that she knows it is very difficult, at best, for her to defend her record setting Flip-Flopping on absolutely everything she once believed in, including her statements that THERE WILL BE NO FRACKING IN PENNSYLVANIA and her HORRIBLE Performance on the Border, our “Border Czar,” where millions of criminals and people from mental institutions and terrorists have been allowed to pour into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted.
On Thursday, Breitbart News reported that Harris refused to debate Trump in a third proposed matchup he had suggested. However, she had agreed in July to a debate with Trump, but at the time, the campaigns had not settled on a date and network for the event, per Breitbart News.

From Agrarianism To Transhumanism: The Long March To Dystopia

We are currently seeing an acceleration of the corporate consolidation of the entire global agri-food chain.
The big data conglomerates, including Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook and Google, have joined traditional agribusiness giants, such as Corteva, Bayer, Cargill and Syngenta, in a quest to impose their model of food and agriculture on the world.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and big financial institutions, like BlackRock and Vanguard, are also involved, whether through buying up huge tracts of farmland, pushing biosynthetic (fake) food and genetic engineering technologies or more generally facilitating and financing the aims of the mega agri-food corporations.[2]
The billionaire interests behind this try to portray their techno-solutionism as some kind of humanitarian endeavour: saving the planet with ‘climate-friendly solutions’, ‘helping farmers’ or ‘feeding the world’. But what it really amounts to is repackaging and greenwashing the dispossessive strategies of imperialism.
It involves a shift towards a ‘one world agriculture’ under the control of agritech and the data giants, which is to be based on genetically engineered seeds, laboratory created products that resemble food, ‘precision’ and ‘data-driven’ agriculture and farming without farmers, with the entire agrifood chain, from field (or lab) to retail, being governed by monopolistic e-commerce platforms determined by artificial intelligence systems and algorithms.
Those who are pushing this agenda have a vision not only for farmers but also for humanity in general.
The elites through their military-digital-financial (Pentagon/Silicon Valley/Big Finance) complex want to use their technologies to reshape the world and redefine what it means to be human. They regard humans, their cultures and their practices, like nature itself, as a problem and deficient.
Farmers are to be displaced and replaced with drones, machines and cloud-based computing. Food is to be redefined and people are to be fed synthetic, genetically engineered products. Cultures are to be eradicated, and humanity is to be fully urbanised, subservient and disconnected from the natural world.
What it means to be human is to be radically transformed. But what has it meant to be human until now or at least prior to the (relatively recent) Industrial Revolution and associated mass urbanisation?
To answer this question, we need to discuss our connection to nature and what most of humanity was involved in prior to industrialisation — cultivating food.
Many of the ancient rituals and celebrations of our forebears were built around stories, myths and rituals that helped them come to terms with some of the most fundamental issues of existence, from death to rebirth and fertility. These culturally embedded beliefs and practices served to sanctify their practical relationship with nature and its role in sustaining human life.
As agriculture became key to human survival, the planting and harvesting of crops and other seasonal activities associated with food production were central to these customs.
Humans celebrated nature and the life it gave birth to. Ancient beliefs and rituals were imbued with hope and renewal and people had a necessary and immediate relationship with the sun, seeds, animals, wind, fire, soil and rain and the changing seasons that nourished and brought life. Our cultural and social relationships with agrarian production and associated deities had a sound practical base.
People’s lives have been tied to planting, harvesting, seeds, soil and the seasons for thousands of years.
Silvia Guerini, whose quote introduces this article, notes the importance of deep-rooted relationships and the rituals that re-affirm them. She says that through rituals a community recognises itself and its place in the world. They create the spirit of a rooted community by contributing to rooting and making a single existence endure in a time, in a territory, in a community.
Professor Robert W Nicholls explains that the cults of Woden and Thor were superimposed on far older and better-rooted beliefs related to the sun and the earth, the crops and the animals and the rotation of the seasons between the light and warmth of summer and the cold and dark of winter.
Humanity’s relationship with farming and food and our connections to land, nature and community has for millennia defined what it means to be human.
Take India, for example. Environmental scientist Viva Kermani says that Hinduism is the world’s largest nature-based religion that:
“…recognises and seeks the Divine in nature and acknowledges everything as sacred. It views the earth as our Mother and hence advocates that it should not be exploited. A loss of this understanding that earth is our mother, or rather a deliberate ignorance of this, has resulted in the abuse and the exploitation of the earth and its resources.”
Kermani notes that ancient scriptures instructed people that the animals and plants found in India are sacred and, therefore, all aspects of nature are to be revered. She adds that this understanding of and reverence towards the environment is common to all Indic religious and spiritual systems: Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.
According to Kermani, the Vedic deities have deep symbolism and many layers of existence. One such association is with ecology. Surya is associated with the sun, the source of heat and light that nourishes everyone; Indra is associated with rain, crops, and abundance; and Agni is the deity of fire and transformation and controls all changes.
She notes that the Vrikshayurveda, an ancient Sanskrit text on the science of plants and trees, contains details about soil conservation, planting, sowing, treatment, propagating, how to deal with pests and diseases and a lot more.
Like Nicholls, Kermani provides insight into some of the profound cultural, philosophical and practical aspects of humanity’s connection to nature and food production.
This connection resonates with agrarianism, a philosophy based on cooperative labour and fellowship, which stands in stark contrast to the values and impacts of urban life, capitalism and technology that are seen as detrimental to independence and dignity. Agrarianism, too, emphasises a spiritual dimension as well as the value of rural society, small farms, widespread property ownership and political decentralisation.
The prominent proponent of agrarianism Wendell Berry says:
The revolution which began with machines and chemicals now continues with automation, computers and biotechnology.”
For Berry, agrarianism is not a sentimental longing for a time past. Colonial attitudes, domestic, foreign and now global, have resisted true agrarianism almost from the beginning — there has never been fully sustainable, stable, locally adapted, land-based economies.
However, Berry provides many examples of small (and larger) farms that have similar output as industrial agriculture with one third of the energy.
In his poem ‘A Spiritual Journey’, Berry writes the following:
And the world cannot be discovered by a journey of miles,
no matter how long,
but only by a spiritual journey,
a journey of one inch,
very arduous and humbling and joyful,
by which we arrive at the ground at our feet,
and learn to be at home.”
But in the cold, centralised, technocratic dystopia that is planned, humanity’s spiritual connection to the countryside, food and agrarian production are to be cast into the dustbin of history.
Silvia Guerini says:
The past becomes something to be erased in order to break the thread that binds us to a history, to a tradition, to a belonging, for the transition towards a new uprooted humanity, without past, without memory… a new humanity dehumanised in its essence, totally in the hands of the manipulators of reality and truth”.
This dehumanised humanity severed from the past is part of the wider agenda of transhumanism. For instance, we are not just seeing a push towards a world without farmers and everything that has connected us to the soil but, according to Guerini, also a world without mothers.
She argues that those behind test-tube babies and surrogate motherhood now have their sights on genetic engineering and artificial wombs, which would cut women out of the reproductive process. Guerini predicts that artificial wombs could eventually be demanded, or rather marketed, as a right for everyone, including transgender people. It is interesting that the language around pregnancy is already contested with the omission of ‘women’ from statements like ‘persons who can get pregnant’.
Of course, there has long been a blurring of lines between biotechnology, eugenics and genetic engineering. Genetically engineered crops, gene drives and gene editing are now a reality, but the ultimate goal is marrying artificial intelligence, bionanotechnology and genetic engineering to produce the one-world transhuman.
This is being pushed by powerful interests, who, according to Guerini, are using a rainbow, transgenic left and LGBTQ+ organisations to promote a new synthetic identity and claim to new rights. She says this is an attack on life, on nature, on “what is born, as opposed to artificial” and adds that all ties to the real, natural world must be severed.
It is interesting that in its report Future of Food, the UK supermarket giant Sainsburys celebrates a future where we are microchipped and tracked and neural laces have the potential to see all of our genetic, health and situational data recorded, stored and analysed by algorithms that could work out exactly what food (delivered by drone) we need to support us at a particular time in our life. All sold as ‘personal optimisation’.
Moreover, it is likely, according to the report, that we will be getting key nutrients through implants. Part of these nutrients will come in the form of lab-grown food and insects.
A neural lace is an ultra-thin mesh that can be implanted in the skull, forming a collection of electrodes capable of monitoring brain function. It creates an interface between the brain and the machine.
Sainsburys does a pretty good job of trying to promote a dystopian future where AI has taken your job, but, according to the report, you have lots of time to celebrate the wonderful, warped world of ‘food culture’ created by the supermarket and your digital overlords.
Technofeudalism meets transhumanism — all for your convenience, of course.
But none of this will happen overnight. And whether the technology will deliver remains to be seen. Those who are promoting this brave new world might have overplayed their hand but will spend the following decades trying to drive their vision forward.
But arrogance is their Achilles heel.
There is still time to educate, to organise, to resist and to agitate against this hubris, not least by challenging the industrial food giants and the system that sustains them and by advocating for and creating grass-root food movements and local economies that strengthen food sovereignty.

Michelle Obama Plays Race Card Against Trump: ‘Threatened’ by Successful Black People
Former First Lady Michelle Obama played the race card against former President Donald Trump in her speech to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois, on Tuesday night, accusing him of opposing her and former President Barack Obama because of racism.
Gone was the speaker who told Democrats in 2016, “When they go low, we go high.”
Instead, there was this, on behalf of Vice President Kamala Harris:
We know folks are gonna do everything they can to distort her truth. My husband and I, sadly, know a little something about this. For years, Donald Trump did everything in his power try to make people fear us. See, his limited, narrow view of the world made him feel threatened by the existence of two hard-working, highly-educated, successful people who happen to be black.
[Applause]
Who’s gonna tell him that the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those “black jobs”?
Trump used the term “black jobs” to refer to jobs held by black Americans who are being forced to compete in the labor market with new migrants; he did not use the term in a racist sense.
The Obamas have long resented Trump for making an issue of then-President Obama’s birth certificate. After years of refusing to produce his original Hawaii birth certificate, Obama did so under public pressure from Trump in 2011.
The rumor that Obama was born abroad was boosted, perhaps inadvertently, by Obama himself, whose literary agent claimed, erroneously, in the 1990s that he had been born overseas.

WATCH — ‘F**k This Country!’: Protesters Burn U.S. Flag Outside DNC
Chicago police officers clad in riot gear clashed with a crowd of anti-Israel protesters on Tuesday evening as other demonstrators set an American flag on fire, the incidents happening the second night of the Democrat National Convention (DNC).
In one clip, a crowd chanting, “Free, free Palestine” gathered around a protester who set the U.S. flag ablaze. When a reporter named Ben Bergquam stepped forward and tried to grab the flag out of the flames, a protester appeared to shove him.
“Don’t burn the American flag!” the reporter said, to which the protester replied, “Fuck this country! Burn it down!”:

As the officers, wearing blue helmets, marched through the leftist protesters, some of the activists held up signs that read, “End US Aid to Israel!” “Democrats Drop Bombs and Faux Promises,” and “Gaza Means Fight Back.” It is important to note that the Israeli consulate is located nearby.
At one point, the mob appeared to press in closer to the officers as they formed a line to push them back:

More video footage shows officers trying to grab a pole with a flag on it from the activists until they finally let go. Officers then grappled with several protesters as they told those surrounding them to back up. The Blaze report said officers made several arrests:

There were also clashes between pro-Palestinian activists and a pair of white supremacists who showed up.
On Monday, an anti-Israel march at the DNC featured a Hamas flag at the front of the procession which highlighted “the radicalism of some of the more prominent participants,” Breitbart News reported.
The march was attended by several thousand people who eventually moved toward United Center, the venue for the convention. The outlet continued:
Along the way, participants waved flags, carried signs with radical slogans (“Victory to the Palestinian Resistance!”) and joined extremist chants (“We don’t want no two states; give us all of ’48” — a call for destroying Israel entirely).
They also chanted slogans comparing the Chicago Police Department — whose members were protecting the march — to the Ku Klux Klan, and declared that “Zionists” were not welcome, which effectively excludes most Jewish people.
Also on Monday, Army veteran and local resident Shawn Campbell held up an American flag and walked backwards for almost a mile as a counter-protest outside the DNC, Breitbart News reported.
“Campbell wore a T-shirt that simply said ‘vote,’ and marched opposite the protest most of the way from Union Park to the security fence outside the United Center, where the Democratic convention is being held,” the outlet stated.

Fact Check: Bernie Claims Trump Would Cut Social Security, Medicare
CLAIM: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on Tuesday claimed during the Democrat National Convention that former President Donald Trump would cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid if he were elected again.
VERDICT: False. Trump has repeatedly said he would not cut Social Security, Medicare, or other entitlement programs.
Sanders said, “Putting forth budgets that cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid is radical,” suggesting that his progressive agenda is not radical.

However, despite the Vermont socialist’s claim, Trump has repeatedly said that he would not cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid.
Even the Washington Post noted that Trump’s budget proposals did not seek to cut Social Security or Medicare:
The Harris-Walz campaign is being disingenuous and misleading. Virtually all of Trump’s proposed Medicare “cuts” were good-government efforts intended to reduce costs and put the program on a sounder financial footing, with some ideas even borrowed from Obama. The campaign has a slightly stronger case for claiming Social Security cuts, as Trump proposed some changes in programs for people on disability. Still, they were relatively minor. Trump kept his promise not to mess with retirement and survivor benefits — the core of Social Security. [Emphasis added]
“This rhetoric is worthy of Three Pinocchios,” the Post added.
In an interview with Breitbart News in December 2022, Trump said, “We’re not cutting Social Security. It’s very simple. It’s a simple answer. We’re not cutting Social Security.”
He continued:
We have to protect it. It’s a contract with the people,. They go in. They work and they do. They put their blood, sweat, and tears into Social Security and then you have a guy like a Paul Ryan or others that want to destroy it. We have a contract. There are plenty of places we can take from where it’s waste. Look at the Green New Deal nonsense. That’s many times Social Security, what they’re doing with the Green New Deal. That is like throwing money out the window. I’m all for the environment. I’m an environmentalist in the truest sense. But the Green New Deal is like the Green New Hoax. It’s a hoax. Then when they talk about Social Security, they’re going to destroy Social Security so they can build more windmills all over the place that don’t work? It’s not going to happen with me.

Jennifer Lopez files to divorce Ben Affleck: US media
Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, US media reported Tuesday, two years after the Hollywood power couple officially gave love a second chance by tying the knot.
The pair, who were nicknamed “Bennifer” when they first dated in the frenzied tabloid celebrity days of the early 2000s, had rekindled their relationship almost two decades later.
But Lopez on Tuesday filed divorce papers at a Los Angeles court, Hollywood trade outlet Variety and celebrity gossip website TMZ said.
A representative for Lopez declined to comment. Affleck’s publicist did not immediately respond to an AFP request for comment.
It was the fourth marriage for pop singer-turned-actress Lopez, 55, and the second for Oscar-winning movie star and director Affleck, 52.
The pair first met in 2002 on the set of the widely panned movie “Gigli.”
They became a media sensation as they started dating and announced their engagement.
But they postponed their planned 2003 nuptials, and announced their relationship was over in early 2004.
“Bennifer” set the internet alight again in 2021 when photos of them together again began circulating.
“It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance,” Lopez said in an interview around that time.
Lopez and Affleck announced their engagement in April 2022, and the A-list lovebirds wed in Las Vegas in July.
They made it official again the following month in a lavish ceremony at the “Good Will Hunting” star’s 87-acre (35-hectare) estate in the southeastern US state of Georgia.
Among the Hollywood types in attendance at the three-day affair were longtime Affleck pal Matt Damon and director Kevin Smith.
The couple reportedly bought a $60 million home together in Los Angeles last year.
But rumors of marital troubles emerged in the entertainment press and on social media earlier this year.
Fans noted that Lopez celebrated her 55th birthday without her husband last month, and TMZ said they had sold their joint home, with Affleck moving into a luxury bachelor pad.
People magazine said relations became strained because of their different approaches to celebrity.
“She likes to open her heart to her fans and to the world,” the magazine quoted an unnamed source saying.
“He is more introspective and private. This has been difficult day-to-day.”
Divorce papers listed the couple’s date of separation as April 26, 2024, according to TMZ, which said the pair are no longer on speaking terms.
Lopez was previously married to actor Ojani Noa, dancer Cris Judd and singer Marc Anthony, with whom she shares twins Max and Emme.
Affleck was married to actress Jennifer Garner and they are the parents of Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.

Leftist protesters chanted “Piggy piggy go back home” and “Pigs go home” during an anti-Israel protest outside the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago.
A protester could be seen tripping over a curb before getting back up and gesturing toward a police officer on a bike. Other police officers can be seen then trying to make their way on the side of the road, moving trash cans as the crowd of disgruntled protesters made their disdain of their presence known with a “Pigs go home!” chant. Another chant of “Piggy, piggy go back home” can be heard as a black police officer stands in the midst of the crowd.

The protest was part of a greater effort to spread a “free Palestine” message in the city where the DNC is holding their convention this week.
“150,000 people are dead,” one woman yelled as protesters crashed the DNC welcome party. “You are furthering a genocide. And the Harris-Biden administration keeps on funding it.”
As Breitbart News reported:
Hatem Abudayyeh, spokesperson for the pro-palestinian coalition, told reporters that “tens of thousands” of people will be marching in the street.
“Almost 270 organizations from across the U.S. have joined the coalition to March on the DNC,” Abudayyeh said. “Tens of thousands [of people] will be out on the streets starting tomorrow, August 19 at noon, right here at Union Park to say, ‘Stop the genocide now, end U.S. aid to Israel and free Palestine.’”
“Up until 2 p.m. when we step off, we’re going to be fighting for our rights and we’re going to be fighting for that route,” Abudayyeh added.
Notably, protesters were also seen holding a banner that read “Killer Kamala” as they marched through the streets.

*** DNC Livewire Night 2 *** Fantasy Night: The Return of the Obamas, the ‘Dream Candidate’ for Democrats Not Named Kamala Harris
Night two of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) probably cannot go any worse for the wayward Democrat Party than night one did … but it just might.
On the second night at the “mostly peaceful” gathering of leftists in Chicago, Illinois, former President Barack Obama will return to the main stage and spotlight to give the keynote address at the end of the evening. His wife, former first lady Michelle Obama, will speak earlier in the evening. Interestingly, several Democrats are quite openly referring to Michelle Obama as their “dream candidate,” which means despite the hullabaloo from across the media that Vice President Kamala Harris is not in fact the “dream candidate” for the party. The Democrats are just kind of stuck with Harris, as they had no other options when they staged a coup against the guy who happens to be the sitting president of the United States who’s from their party President Joe Biden. It’s worth noting that they, perhaps conveniently perhaps not, shoved Biden in the trunk of the car at the end of the night well after primetime on Monday night to hasten his march to being yesterday’s news.
Speaking of the media, cracks are beginning to emerge across the establishment media when it comes to their close relationship with Democrats and particularly the Harris campaign. Several establishment reporters were critical of the DNC’s unfocused and unusually long and disjointed programming on Monday evening. If the party does not sort out these issues by Tuesday, things could begin to get much worse for Harris and Democrats–and it is definitely something to watch as the evening shakes out.
But now that Biden is firmly squashed in history’s dustbin, Democrats will look forward to the next less than 80 days to election day on Nov. 5 and their efforts to try to make the presidential race competitive again. David Plouffe, one of Obama’s closest advisers who seems to be running things at what was the Biden campaign but is now the Harris campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, did an interview early on Tuesday with Axios where he said the battleground states have returned to the traditional fight like the nation saw in 2016 or 2020. But right after he said that, a new poll emerged out of Virginia showing Republican candidate Donald Trump has again pulled into a statistical tie with Harris in the Old Dominion, flashing more warning signs for Democrats that Trump may be again expanding the map now that Harris’s sugar high has faded.
So again, the big picture this evening is a flash back to history in the good ‘ole days for modern Democrats when Obama was president–which comes after they crushed the inconvenient lump of a current president into history already–and a look at what might be the future when the other Obama might emerge in a future race for president, but not this year. Of course, while this all happens, the Democrats will continue to try to convince themselves that everything they know about Harris’s extremism and incompetence was actually a fantasy and that they do in fact have a shot at winning in November despite giant flashing warning signs emerging everywhere already less than a month into Harris’s nascent campaign. And they will try to do it while staying on schedule and not pissing everyone watching off by having pointless speeches drag on too long.

Obama has wrapped his address, and interestingly both him and his wife ended their speeches–which they reportedly wrote together–offering very specific campaign tactical advice.
Tonight’s program did end slightly earlier than night one which dragged past midnight but it still went way longer than Democrats wanted.

It’s kind of amazing how Obama can spend 30 minutes viciously demonizing his political opponents then end a speech trying to say it’s okay to disagree with people. It’s a common tactic he regularly used when he was more frequently on the political stage.

Barack Obama is back on attacking Donald Trump, proving yet again how obsessed Obama is with Trump. He’s like compulsive about it. Unhealthily obsessed with Trump. Nobody in Obama’s entire political life has ever rattled him as much as Trump. He’s shaken by Trump–and Obama is showing it again tonight.
UPDATE 11:15 p.m. ET:
Obama is still several minutes later openly and nastily attacking Trump, a sign that Trump is way inside this guy’s head. Obama has offered no vision for the country other than rhetorical oratory pushing Harris–but no policy solutions. This is a fascinating line of attack from Obama that despite all the media bluster–in part because they have not seen Obama in a long time–that will undoubtedly come will probably be ineffective in actually helping Harris.
UPDATE 11:12 p.m. ET:
That was fast. Barack Obama has devolved this speech into a negative nasty rant against Donald Trump, making several personal attacks at him from the convention stage.
UPDATE 11:10 p.m. ET:
Obama is speaking kindly about his former vice president, the current president, Joe Biden, but in so doing twisting the knife in saying at the end of that section of his speech “the torch has been passed.”
Then Obama says the race will be “tight,” and he’s warning gathered Democrats that they need to prove they are going to fight for the regular people. He then takes several shots at Donald Trump.
UPDATE 11:05 p.m. ET:
“I am feeling hopeful because this convention has always been good to kids with funny names who believe anything is possible,” Barack Obama says of Kamala Harris.
UPDATE 11:04 p.m. ET:
Barack Obama is on stage now, receiving a very warm applause from Democrats gathered in the state that first sent him to the U.S. Senate before he was elected president.
UPDATE 11:03 p.m. ET:
Michelle Obama says the election will be “close” and will be decided by just “a handful of states.”
She wraps her speech by saying she wants to go “higher,” even though she viciously attacked Trump.
She now introduces former President Barack Obama, her husband, who finally takes the stage after primetime.
UPDATE 11:00 p.m. ET:
Michelle Obama leads the crowd in chants of “do something” when she says people see “a bad poll–and we will” or whenever anything is going on. “Don’t complain if no one from the campaign has reached out to you specifically for your support–there is no time for that kind of foolishness,” she said.
“Consider this to be your official ask–Michelle Obama is asking you to do something,” she said.
UPDATE 10:58 p.m. ET:
Michelle Obama says “there is no other choice than Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
But now she is warning that while energy is high for Harris and Walz now, “there are so many people desperate for a different outcome.”
“No matter how good we feel tonight or tomorrow or the next day, this is going to be an uphill battle,” she says. “We cannot be our own worst enemies.”
She also laments a possible “Goldilocks complex where everything is just right,” seemingly criticizing leftists who are openly ripping Harris and Walz right now.
UPDATE 10:53 p.m. ET:
Michelle Obama is now outright attacking Trump claiming he tried for years to make people “fear” her and her husband because they are black. She plays the race card arguing the job he is seeking–the presidency–“is one of those black jobs.”
UPDATE 10:50 p.m. ET:
Looks like the DNC failed logistically yet again, as it’s almost 11 p.m. on the east coast the Democrats have yet to produce the keynote speaker Barack Obama. That means just like last night when they pushed current President Joe Biden past primetime, they have now pushed their star speaker former President Obama past primetime as well.

You could hear a pin drop as Michelle Obama is hyping Kamala Harris–the audience is way more into Michelle than they are into Kamala, quite clearly.

It’s still the very tail end of primetime, and Democrats have finally gotten Michelle Obama–the “dream candidate” who is not Kamala Harris–on stage. Wow, they did it before 11 p.m. on the east coast!

It’s becoming abundantly clear why the Democrats hardly ever let Doug Emhoff speak in public just a few minutes into this address from the would-be First Gentleman. The address is substance-free, and filled with airy carelessness and buzzwords that have no real meaning. Emhoff called Harris a “joyful warrior” and fails to explain or describe what that actually means, and provides no substance behind it at all. Now Emhoff is raising his voice slightly as if to emphasize something then slowing down then speeding up. This speech is just truly weak and terrible. Expect to hardly ever see Emhoff again on the campaign trail.
UPDATE 10:27 p.m. ET:
To add insult to injury, the Democrats then had Cole Emhoff–after narrative that grating video–come out and introduce his dad. Finally, finally, finally Doug Emhoff is on stage.
“Hello to my big, beautiful, BLENDED, family up there,” Emhoff says when he takes the stage.
UPDATE 10:25 p.m. ET:
Now the convention is playing some video of Cole Emhoff, Doug Emhoff’s son and Kamala Harris’s stepson, talking about his father. Maybe, just maybe, this means that Doug Emhoff is coming on stage soon? Who knows, but clearly the Democrats have not fixed anything from last night. It’ll be way too late again when this pageantry ends.
UPDATE 10:20 p.m. ET:
Here comes another senator, Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), as the nation is still forced to wait for the Obamas and Emhoff. It’s almost 10:30 p.m. on the east coast, and still no sight of Obama–but the Democrats have no problems letting run-of-the-mill Democrat after run-of-the-mill Democrat take to the stage to give speeches that are without focus and way too long so they can take some cheap pot shots at Trump.

Over on CNN, Anderson Cooper and David Axelrod are trying to wish away the Democrats’ issues with production arguing that things are going smoothly on night two when they clearly are not. It’s getting late, and the nation is still awaiting Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, former first lady Michelle Obama, and former President Barack Obama among many others. This convention is tilting towards midnight and going extremely late again, just like night one.

Pritzker finally finished his long and bloviating address. It’s nearly 10 p.m. on the east coast and the Democrats’ program is still dragging on way, way, way, way, way too long. Still many, many, many people to come.

But when Sanders was up, he told a massive whopper of a lie–he claimed that Donald Trump wants to cut Social Security. That is a complete and total fabrication, and it’s totally untrue. Trump has made clear time and again he does not.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who is technically not a Democrat but an “independent” who caucuses with Democrats, is speaking now. He is attacking Trump over COVID in his speech right from the outset.

Schumer is pushing people to vote for Democrats in the Senate as well. The map this year is even worse for Democrats than other years, and he predicts boldly Democrats will “hold the Senate again” and “pick up seats.” For that to happen, Sens. Jon Tester (D-MT), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Bob Casey (D-PA), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) will need to win and so will Reps. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and Ruben Gallego (D-AZ). Then they would need to beat either Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) or Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). Seems very far-fetched.
Then, Schumer delves into a series of typical partisan Democrat talking points.
Schumer closes his speech standing up for Jewish people, and attacks antisemitism–but then veers into a strange and untrue attack on Trump over antisemitims.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer dances onto the main stage and praises the fake roll call for Harris.
He is currently offering no policy and only platitudes–but he comes right after Trump with an attack right off the bat.
UPDATE 9:13 p.m. ET:
Harris says her campaign is a “people-powered campaign.” She is saying good-bye to the people in Chicago for now, but seems to be still speaking in Milwaukee–it’s unclear from the television coverage of the convention.

Harris and Walz are holding a rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and just took the stage there right after the “celebratory” roll call an hour away in Chicago.

Overseeing it is DJ Cassidy, who’s playing music themed to various states as they “vote” in the purely ceremonial “election.”
