UK police arrest 11-year-old child on suspicion of violent disorder related to anti-mass immigration riots

An 11-year-old child has been arrested on criminal charges in the United Kingdom as authorities crack down on anti-mass migration riots that have descended the nation into civil unrest.

Cleveland Police said the child was taken into custody on alleged suspicion of violent disorder and is the youngest individual apprehended thus far, as per The Telegraph.

The arrest was part of a series of coordinated raids on Wednesday, which resulted in 14 apprehensions. The individuals arrested ranged in age from 11 to 43, police said.

“Teams of officers headed out this morning to target those believed to be involved in the disorder,” the police force said.

The civil unrest came after the son of African migrants allegedly killed three children in a mass stabbing attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport in July. Axel Muganwa Rudakubana, 18, stabbed a total of 13 people, including 11 children. He has been charged with three counts of murder and 10 counts of attempted murder, court documents show.

Cleveland Police said officers have arrested 110 people in connection with the civil unrest in Hartlepool and Middlesbrough since Aug. 4, when the riots began.

Supt. Marc Anderson told the force in a brief before Wednesday’s operation: “I was silver commander on Sunday, Aug. 4, and never in my 30 years’ service have I seen anything like that in Middlesbrough.”

The UK government and law enforcement agencies have faced widespread criticism for their handling of the riots, which included heavy criminal penalties for residents who shared memes or other social media posts critical of the country’s mass migration policies.

A 25-year-old male arrested during the raid on suspicion of violent disorder charges yelled at the media for being “muppets,” according to the paper, and told the reporters to, “Go and get some proper news.”

Det. Ch. Insp. Sarah Robinson, who headed the operation in Middlesbrough, said after the completion of the operation on Wednesday: “The message is you haven’t got away with it.”

On Tuesday, 16 additional people were charged with violent disorder during an appearance at Teeside Crown Court.
