Fake news now at peak as Kamala faces CNN “interview”

by Martin Jay, Strategic Culture:

Wherever you look, it feels like we are being bombarded now with an unprecedented level of fake news. One reason may well be how the installed governments by western elites – military industrial complex and banking – are getting very skittish indeed about a shake up of world order in November when the airhead Kamala Harris takes on Donald Trump in the presidential elections. This new trend of installing a useful idiot into power has been around for decades across Africa and Asia where the U.S. and before that the UK installed their own despots to serve their own needs, so we shouldn’t be so shocked by someone like Harris having the landscape prepared for her.

TRUTH LIVES on at https://sgtreport.tv/

To call Harris a ‘lightweight’ is understating her political verve. She has none of the conventional talents that politicians require like public speaking, or engaging with media, let alone having any ideas of her own which might make it one day to policy. For most Americans the choice in November is between Harris, who is essentially Biden 2.0 or Trump. Not exactly a tough call many might say since RFK endorsed Trump who traditionally he has not been a fan of; it’s as though he’s saying to Americans, “anything but Kamala. Do the maths”.

Media is of course playing a huge and certainly tawdry role in pushing her which is not generally noted by most Americans. For weeks she has ignored or avoided all serendipitous contact with journalists which surely must be orders from the elite who are controlling her. And there is good reason for this as the internet is awash with her talking gibberish. Or dancing.

Talking mumbo jumbo won’t help her at the polls against Trump who revels at the microphone and is not afraid to go head to head with journalists and unscripted interviews, despite him  whining about how unfair the set-up is.

What he is alluding to is that left-wing media in America like CNN fake the news and as we saw recently almost certainly gave Kamala a print out of the questions she was going to face with her recent CNN interview where she was joined by her running mate just in case she did something which broadcast journalists call ‘gold fishing’ – an on-screen facial contortion where the lips and cheeks move, but nothing comes out of the mouth. In Kamala’s case, gold fishing might not be as bad as actually speaking, as she has shown us that there is not much between the ears. She is not overburdened with what many academics have of knowing too much and not being able to communicate in short sound bites. Harris doesn’t really know anything at all except a few talking points from Biden’s days. Her own people will be happy with the staged interview as they can at least counter oped writers who claim she is so lame that she avoids all press. Thanks CNN. Great jaaaabbbb.

Harris is seen as the most suitable candidate to further the causes of America’s military industrial complex whose six main companies cannot slow production down, unless they make job layoffs. The insatiable hunger of this machine is responsible for the lion’s share of U.S. foreign policy and Biden gave his cronies their one hundred Christmas’s when he created the Ukraine war and more recently Gaza. In Gaza the false reporting from western media is as repulsive as the images of children who have lost their entire brains and whose heads look like theatrical floppy props, which has become the day to day norm now when Israel bombs schools. Does anyone in the west in either camp still believe this is a “war” against Hamas fighters? With the recent invasion of West Bank and the rise of settlers stealing land there, surely the real story of Netanyahu’s campaign is there for all to see in plain light: ethnic cleansing on a grand scale to wipe Palestinians off the face of Israel. And still we read western journalists and op-ed writers parroting the line about ‘two state solutions’ and what the EU says, etc etc. By the time the chairs are arranged and the mineral water is put on the tables, there will not be a Palestinian left to even represent his or her own state. Everyone knows the two-state solution is a massive parody of diplo gibberish a bit like Kamala’s few media stints which are still good for a laugh today. And it’s an identical story in Ukraine. No western journalists can report on the true story of Ukrainian losses in Kursk and how the operation has blown up in Zelensky’s face. The omission of reporting key facts and data is just as bad as making up your stories, if not worse.

Intel Teams Up With Japanese National Research Institute To Further EUV Development

Intel and Japan are teaming up.

In fact, the Japanese national research institute is going to be teaming up with Intel to “build a research and development center in Japan for cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing technology”, according to a new report from Nikkei Asia.

Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), under the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, will establish a new facility in three to five years equipped with extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) technology.

Intel will contribute its expertise in chip manufacturing using EUV. The center, the first of its kind in Japan, will allow equipment and materials manufacturers to pay a fee for prototyping and testing.

Nikkei reports that the initiative aims to strengthen Japan’s capabilities in the chip manufacturing sector, with total investment expected to reach hundreds of millions of dollars.

EUV (extreme ultraviolet lithography) is crucial for semiconductor manufacturing at scales of 5 nanometers and smaller, allowing more transistors to fit on a chip and increasing computing power.

And EUV equipment is expensive, costing over 40 billion yen ($273 million) per unit, making it a significant investment for suppliers of materials and equipment.

The U.S. has tightened restrictions on EUV-related exports to China amid growing strategic competition with China, slowing the return of research data to Japan. Having EUV equipment available at a domestic research facility will reduce this barrier, according to the report

ASML Holding, based in the Netherlands, is the leading manufacturer of EUV lithography equipment. However, semiconductor production involves over 600 steps, requiring a broad range of specialized equipment and materials.

Japanese companies like Lasertec dominate the EUV inspection equipment market, and firms like JSR specialize in photosensitive materials for silicon wafer circuits.

Intel aims to strengthen ties with these Japanese suppliers through the new research center.

Fake News: Associated Press Warps What Vance Said About Shootings

The Associated Press ignited massive backlash on Thursday when it blatantly misquoted vice presidential pick JD Vance on school shootings.

Speaking at a rally in Phoenix, JD Vance said he does not like that school shootings have become a “fact of life” while calling for better security.

“If these psychos are going to go after our kids we’ve got to be prepared for it,” Vance said. “We don’t have to like the reality that we live in, but it is the reality we live in. We’ve got to deal with it.”

When the journalist asked Vance what the country can do to stop shootings, Vance called for greater security.

“I don’t like that this is a fact of life,” Vance said. “But if you are a psycho and you want to make headlines, you realize that our schools are soft targets. And we have got to bolster security at our schools. We’ve got to bolster security so if a psycho wants to walk through the front door and kill a bunch of children they’re not able.”

Instead of reporting on his comments accurately, the AP originally reported only that Vance called shootings a “fact of life.”

After significant backlash, the AP reversed its headline and reporting to say, “JD Vance says he laments that school shootings are a ‘fact of life’ and calls for better security.”

“This post replaces an earlier post that was deleted to add context to the partial quote from Vance,” the AP later said.

In a statement to Breitbart News, Vance spokesperson William Martin called it an example of fake news lying about Republicans.

“This is yet another case of the fake news media brazenly lying about a Republican politician. Senator Vance said exactly the opposite of what the Associated Press claimed,” he said.

“It should come as no surprise that the AP lost any and all credibility it had years ago, because they will lie about literally anything in order prop up the Democrats. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has called for all police officers to be removed from schools, putting children all over America at risk. It’s yet another example of how Kamala Harris’s weak, failed, and dangerously liberal agenda makes her unfit for office,” he added.

Father of Georgia Shooting Suspect Arrested for Involuntary Manslaughter

The father of the 14-year-old Apalachee High School attack suspect was arrested Thursday and charged with manslaughter and other charges.

CBS News reported that law enforcement sources indicated 54-year-old Colin Gray allegedly gave an AR-15 rifle to his son “as a gift … in December 2023.”

The specific charges against the father include “four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second degree murder and eight counts of
cruelty to children.”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) noted that the charges “stem from Mr. Gray knowingly allowing his son … to possess a weapon.”

GBI called for communities across the state to encourage students “across this state to contact a member of their school faculty with any and all concerns of suspicious behavior that they may see.”

The 14-year-old arrested for the Apalachee High School shooting has been charged with four counts of felony murder.

Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith spoke at the press conference Thursday night and announced that the nine individuals who were injured in the attack will be making “a full recovery.”

Breitbart News reported that the 14-year-old attacker was stopped by a good guy with a gun. The good guy was a deputy serving as a School Resource Officer.

Venezuela says detained US sailor entered ‘without any type of document’

A US Navy sailor held in Venezuela since late last month was arrested for entering “without any type of document,” the South American country’s attorney general said Thursday.

An American official on Wednesday announced the sailor had been detained at a time of soaring tensions between Washington and Caracas in the aftermath of disputed elections in Venezuela, with the opposition party claiming it can prove were stolen.

In his first comments on the matter, Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab said the sailor “entered without any type of document, without any means of subsistence for what he came to do in the country.”

He said the sailor held dual US and Mexican nationalities.

For its part, the Pentagon said the sailor had been in Venezuela on “personal travel.”

“This wasn’t something that was authorized,” Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh told reporters.

“The US Navy is looking into this. We’re working with the State Department,” she said, adding that: “Of course, we’d like to see the sailor returned home.”

Venezuela was rocked by protests after President Nicolas Maduro was declared the winner of a disputed July 28 election, with 25 civilians and two soldiers killed and more than 2,400 people arrested.

The opposition claims it won by a landslide, and the United States, the European Union and several Latin American countries have refused to recognize Maduro’s claimed victory without seeing detailed voting results.

On Monday, Washington seized Maduro’s plane in the Dominican Republic and flew it to Florida, a move the Venezuelan leader condemned as “piracy” but which Washington said was necessary due to sanctions violations.

The following day, Washington denounced an arrest warrant issued for opposition presidential candidate Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia and warned of further action against Maduro.

The US State Department has warned Americans against traveling to Venezuela for reasons including crime, unrest and wrongful detention.

JACK POSOBIEC and LIZ COLLIN: Why did Tim Walz allow $250 million in Covid funds to be defrauded by Somali migrants?

Jack Posobiec hosted Liz Collin, the producer of The Fall of Minneapolis, on Human Events Daily Wednesday to discuss the shocking turn of events where Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz was subpoenaed over a massive fraud scheme involving Feeding Our Future, a nonprofit accused of misusing $250 million that were intended to feed children during the Covid pandemic. The money was instead reportedly laundered to Somali migrants in Minneapolis, many of whom have been charged or convicted over this. This all happened under Walz’s watch, as he was governor of Minnesota at the time.

“You import the third world, you become the third world,” Posobiec said. “If this feels like something that would happen in Mogadishu, that’s because that’s exactly where this comes from.”

Posobiec then questioned if some of the money from the scheme had been pocketed by Walz’s campaign.

Collin called the Feeding Our Future scandal “the largest Covid scheme in the country that happened right here in Minnesota.” She explained that the nonprofit, run through the Department of Agriculture, claimed to be setting up feeding sites for millions of children across the city, but that the numbers were not adding up. However, Walz’s Education Commissioner had been signing off on all of the payments to the organization.

“Finally they put a stop to these payments and they uncover that this money is spent on homes, boats, some people had traveled internationally, people fled the country in the wake of these charges,” she stated.

Both explained that during the trial of these Somali defendants, a bag containing $100,000 was dropped off at the doorstep of one of the jurors in an attempt to bribe her. Collin highlighted that $500 million total fraud under Walz has been uncovered including Medicaid fraud involving Somalis.

Central Bank Gold Buying Trends and the Federal Reserve’s Inflation Strategy

by Money Metals Exchange, Activist Post:

In the latest episode of Money Metals’ Midweek Memo, host Mike Maharrey explored two key financial topics: the surge in central bank gold purchases and the historical perspective of the Federal Reserve’s balance sheet activities, with a focus on inflation.

Central Bank Gold Purchases Surge

Maharrey discussed the most recent data released by the World Gold Council, which showed a significant increase in gold purchases by central banks. In July, global central banks added 37 tons of gold to their reserves—a staggering 206% increase from the previous month.

TRUTH LIVES on at https://sgtreport.tv/

This surge marks the highest level of gold buying since January 2024. Countries like Poland and Uzbekistan led the way, with Poland adding 14 tons, bringing its total to 392 tons. The National Bank of Poland aims to increase gold holdings to 20% of its reserves, currently at 15%.

Maharrey emphasized the underlying reason for this trend:

“The whole theme of central bank gold buying has been minimizing exposure to the dollar, diversifying reserves, and minimizing exposure to fiat currencies, particularly the dollar.”

Emerging markets and nations in Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East continue to lead the charge in diversifying away from the U.S. dollar. Central banks have added a record amount of gold in the first half of 2024—the highest on record since the World Gold Council began tracking this data. This increase aligns with global concerns over fiat currency, particularly the U.S. dollar, as many nations seek to hedge against currency risks and U.S. monetary policy.

Parallel US Regime Change Operations Likely Occurred In Pakistan & Bangladesh

Parallel US Regime Change Operations Likely Occurred In Pakistan & Bangladesh

Authored by Jeffrey D. Sachs via Common Dreams,

Two former leaders of major South Asian countries have reportedly accused the United States of covert regime change operations to topple their governments. One of the leaders, former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, languishes in prison, on a perverse conviction that proves Khan’s assertion. The other leader, former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheik Hasina, fled to India following a violent coup in her country. Their grave accusations against the U.S., as reported in the world media, should be investigated by the UN, since if true, the U.S. actions would constitute a fundamental threat to world peace and to regional stability in South Asia. The two cases seem to be very similar. The very strong evidence of the U.S. role in toppling the government of Imran Khan raises the likelihood that something similar may have occurred in Bangladesh.

In the case of Pakistan, Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia and Central Asia, met with Asad Majeed Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the U.S., on March 7, 2022. Ambassador Khan immediately wrote back to his capital, conveying Lu’s warning that PM Khan threatened U.S.-Pakistan relations because of Khan’s “aggressively neutral position” regarding Russia and Ukraine.

The Ambassador’s March 7 note (technically a diplomatic cypher) quoted Assistant Secretary Lu as follows: “I think if the no-confidence vote against the Prime Minister succeeds, all will be forgiven in Washington because the Russia visit is being looked at as a decision by the Prime Minister. Otherwise, I think it will be tough going ahead.” The very next day, members of the parliament took procedural steps to oust PM Khan.

On March 27, PM Khan brandished the cypher, and told his followers and the public that the U.S. was out to bring him down. On April 10, PM Khan was thrown out of office as the parliament acceded to the U.S. threat.

We know this in detail because of Ambassador Khan’s cypher, exposed by PM Khan and brilliantly documented by Ryan Grim of The Intercept, including the text of the cypher. Absurdly and tragically, PM Khan languishes in prison in part over espionage charges, linked to his revealing the cypher.

The U.S. appears to have played a similar role in the recent violent coup in Bangladesh. PM Hasina was ostensibly toppled by student unrest, and fled to India when the Bangladeshi military refused to prevent the protestors from storming the government offices. Yet there may well be much more to the story than meets the eye.

According to press reports in India, PM Hasina is claiming that the U.S. brought her down. Specifically, she says that the U.S. removed her from power because she refused to grant the U.S. military facilities in a region that is considered strategic for the U.S. in its “Indo-Pacific Strategy” to contain China. While these are second-hand accounts by the Indian media, they track closely several speeches and statements that Hasina has made over the past two years.

On May 17, 2024, the same Assistant Secretary Liu who played a lead role in toppling PM Khan, visited Dhaka to discuss the US Indo-Pacific Strategy among other topics. Days later, Sheikh Hasina reportedly summoned the leaders of the 14 parties of her alliance to make the startling claim that a “country of white-skinned people” was trying to bring her down, ostensibly telling the leaders that she refused to compromise her nation’s sovereignty. Like Imran Khan, PM Hasina had been pursuing a foreign policy of neutrality, including constructive relations not only with the U.S. but also with China and Russia, much to the deep consternation of the U.S. government.

To add credence to Hasina’s charges, Bangladesh had delayed signing two military agreements that the U.S. had pushed very hard since 2022, indeed by none other than the former Under-Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, the neocon hardliner with her own storied history of U.S. regime-change operations. One of the draft agreements, the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA), would bind Bangladesh to closer military-to-military cooperation with Washington. The Government of PM Hasina was clearly not enthusiastic to sign it.

The U.S. is by far the world’s leading practitioner of regime-change operations, yet the U.S. flatly denies its role in covert regime change operations even when caught red-handed, as with Nuland’s infamous intercepted phone call in late January 2014 planning the U.S.-led regime change operation in Ukraine. It is useless to appeal to the U.S. Congress, and still less the executive branch, to investigate the claims by PM Khan and PM Hasina. Whatever the truth of the matter, they will deny and lie as necessary.

This is where the UN should step in. Covert regime change operations are blatantly illegal under international law (notably the Doctrine of Non-Intervention, as expressed for example in UN General Assembly Resolution 2625, 1970), and constitute perhaps the greatest threat to world peace, as they profoundly destabilize nations, and often lead to wars and other civil disorders. The UN should investigate and expose covert regime change operations, both in the interests of reversing them, and preventing them in the future.

The UN Security Council is of course specifically charged under Article 24 of the UN Charter with “primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security.” When evidence arises that a government has been toppled through the intervention or complicity of a foreign government, the UN Security Council should investigate the claims.

AFP: Anti-government protestors display Bangladesh’s national flag as they storm Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s palace in Dhaka on August 5, 2024.

In the cases of Pakistan and Bangladesh, the UN Security Council should seek the direct testimony of PM Khan and PM Hasina in order to evaluate the evidence that the U.S. played a role in the overthrow of the governments of these two leaders. Each, of course, should be protected by the UN for giving their testimony, so as to protect them from any retribution that could follow their honest presentation of the facts. Their testimony can be taken by video conference, if necessary, given the tragic ongoing incarceration of PM Khan.

The U.S. might well exercise its veto in the UN Security Council to prevent such a investigation. In that case, the UN General Assembly can take up the matter, under UN Resolution A/RES/76/, which allows the UN General Assembly to consider an issue blocked by veto in the UN Security Council. The issues at stake could then be assessed by the entire membership of the UN. The veracity of the U.S. involvement in the recent regime changes in Pakistan and Bangladesh could then be objectively analyzed and judged on the evidence, rather than on mere assertions and denials.

The U.S. engaged in at least 64 covert regime change operations during 1947-1989, according to documented research by Lindsey O’Rourke, political science professor at Boston Collage, and several more that were overt (e.g. by U.S.-led war). It continues to engage in regime-change operations with shocking frequency to this day, toppling governments in all parts of the world. It is wishful thinking that the U.S. will abide by international law on its own, but it is not wishful thinking for the world community, long suffering from U.S. regime change operations, to demand their end at the United Nations.

BREAKING: Telegram CEO Pavel Durov breaks silence for first time since arrest in Paris

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has spoken out for the first time since his arrest in Paris on August 24. In the message, he called out French authorities over his “surprising” arrest and laid out the details of his cooperation with them in the past. Nevertheless, he revealed he was questioned by police for 4 days after his arrest. He signed off by thanking his supporters “for the love and memes.”

Durov was formally indicted on 6 charges over regulation of content on his app including “complicity in the offenses of making available without legitimate reason a program or data designed for… organized gang distribution of images of minors presenting child pornography, drug trafficking.”

He posted the following message to one of his channels on his platform called “Du Rove’s Channel”:

“Thanks everyone for your support and love!

“Last month I got interviewed by police for 4 days after arriving in Paris. I was told I may be personally responsible for other people’s illegal use of Telegram, because the French authorities didn’t receive responses from Telegram.

“This was surprising for several reasons:

“1. Telegram has an official representative in the EU that accepts and replies to EU requests. Its email address has been publicly available for anyone in the EU who googles “Telegram EU address for law enforcement”.

“2. The French authorities had numerous ways to reach me to request assistance. As a French citizen, I was a frequent guest at the French consulate in Dubai. A while ago, when asked, I personally helped them establish a hotline with Telegram to deal with the threat of terrorism in France.

“3. If a country is unhappy with an internet service, the established practice is to start a legal action against the service itself. Using laws from the pre-smartphone era to charge a CEO with crimes committed by third parties on the platform he manages is a misguided approach. Building technology is hard enough as it is. No innovator will ever build new tools if they know they can be personally held responsible for potential abuse of those tools.

“Establishing the right balance between privacy and security is not easy. You have to reconcile privacy laws with law enforcement requirements, and local laws with EU laws. You have to take into account technological limitations. As a platform, you want your processes to be consistent globally, while also ensuring they are not abused in countries with weak rule of law. We’ve been committed to engaging with regulators to find the right balance. Yes, we stand by our principles: our experience is shaped by our mission to protect our users in authoritarian regimes. But we’ve always been open to dialogue.

“Sometimes we can’t agree with a country’s regulator on the right balance between privacy and security. In those cases, we are ready to leave that country. We’ve done it many times. When Russia demanded we hand over “encryption keys” to enable surveillance, we refused — and Telegram got banned in Russia. When Iran demanded we block channels of peaceful protesters, we refused — and Telegram got banned in Iran. We are prepared to leave markets that aren’t compatible with our principles, because we are not doing this for money. We are driven by the intention to bring good and defend the basic rights of people, particularly in places where these rights are violated.

“All of that does not mean Telegram is perfect. Even the fact that authorities could be confused by where to send requests is something that we should improve. But the claims in some media that Telegram is some sort of anarchic paradise are absolutely untrue. We take down millions of harmful posts and channels every day. We publish daily transparency reports (like this (http://t.me/stopCA) or this (https://t.me/isiswatch) ). We have direct hotlines with NGOs to process urgent moderation requests faster.

“However, we hear voices saying that it’s not enough. Telegram’s abrupt increase in user count to 950M caused growing pains that made it easier for criminals to abuse our platform. That’s why I made it my personal goal to ensure we significantly improve things in this regard. We’ve already started that process internally, and I will share more details on our progress with you very soon.

“I hope that the events of August will result in making Telegram — and the social networking industry as a whole — safer and stronger. Thanks again for your love and memes.”

This is a breaking story. Refresh for updates.

Ugandan Olympian dies after being set on fire by ex-boyfriend

Olympic athlete Rebecca Cheptegei, 33, of Uganda, died on Thursday after she was allegedly doused in gas and set on fire by her ex-boyfriend, according to The Star Newspaper. The marathon runner suffered extensive burns in the Sunday attack. She had just returned home after competing in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games.

According to authorities, Cheptegei was targeted after attending church with her two daughters in northwest Kenya, where she lived and trained. She had reportedly been in a dispute with her former boyfriend, Dickson Ndiema Marangach, over a plot of land. He reportedly broke into the athlete’s home ahead of the attack and waited for her to return home from church.

“Upon returning, Dickson, who had procured petrol, began pouring it on Rebecca before he set her ablaze,” said Jeremiah Ole Kosion, the Trans-Nzoia County police commander. “The two were rescued by neighbors who put out the fire and rushed them to hospital.”

Both of them were injured in the blaze, which resulted in 75 percent of Cheptegei’s body being burned. Marangach is reportedly still recovering at the hospital in the ICU. Police are investigating the attack as a domestic incident.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our athlete, Rebecca Cheptegei early this morning who tragically fell victim to domestic violence. As a federation, we condemn such acts and call for justice. May her soul rest in Peace,” the Uganda Athletics Federation wrote on X.

Joseph Cheptegei, Rebecca’s father, told The Standard that the pair had been separated for a long time. They were scheduled to appear in court regarding a land dispute about her home in western Kenya.

The heartbroken dad said he lost a “very supportive daughter,” explaining that she not only provided for their entire family but financially helped out other athletes.

Cheptegei was born and raised in Cheminy, Uganda. She made her Olympic debut last month in Paris, finishing in 44th place in the women’s marathon event.
