Vietnam parliament approves $67 bn high-speed railway project

Vietnam will build a $67 billion high-speed railway from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, after the country’s rubber-stamp parliament gave the go-ahead to the long-awaited project on Saturday.

“The national assembly voted to approve… a resolution on investment policies for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis,” a statement on the parliament’s website said.
