The Congressional Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Caucus is holding its second-ever meeting on Wednesday to introduce a set of principles designed to streamline federal operations and eliminate inefficiencies. The caucus, established to align with the DOGE advisory panel introduced by President-elect Donald Trump, outlined eight key goals to guide its mission.

“The federal government must serve the interests of taxpayers, and taxpayers are best served by a lean, efficient, transparent, and accountable bureaucracy,” reads the first principle, according to a draft memo obtained and reported by Fox News.

Goals for Reform

The DOGE Caucus aims to tackle a broad spectrum of issues, from eliminating unused federal office spaces in agencies with remote work policies to addressing widespread regulatory redundancies. Leaders emphasized their commitment to rooting out inefficiencies, asserting that “no amount of waste, fraud, abuse, duplication, or administrative bloat is too small or too large to fix.”

The caucus memo places federal employees and agencies under scrutiny, urging them to “demonstrate effectiveness for and responsiveness to taxpayers while also not creating unnecessary costs or burdens.”

Rep. Aaron Bean (R-Fla.), a co-founder of the caucus, told Fox News Digital, “We’ve articulated our vision in a transparent manner that is both concise and consumable for every American.”

Mandate for Accountability

Co-founder Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) reinforced the group’s mission, stating, “The mandate is clear: every dollar spent in Washington must deliver a direct benefit to the people it serves, while prioritizing transparency, accountability, and efficiency.”

The caucus also advocates for eliminating federal agencies, programs, or regulations deemed unproductive or wasteful if they cannot be effectively reformed. Members emphasized the importance of grounding all rules and regulations in statute, declaring that “Congress enacts public policy, not unelected bureaucrats.”

Blake Moore (R-Utah), Vice Chair of the House GOP Conference and a DOGE Caucus co-chair, praised the group’s progress. “The DOGE Caucus has wasted no time organizing our members and crafting a clear vision for what we hope to achieve. These principles underscore how we plan to get there,” Moore said.

Bipartisan Momentum

The caucus has drawn interest from both sides of the aisle, with several Democratic lawmakers attending its first meeting in December. The bipartisan enthusiasm signals a shared commitment to reducing waste and improving government efficiency.

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy met with lawmakers late last year to discuss their goals for the DOGE advisory panel, further underscoring the private sector’s role in supporting federal reforms.
