DAVID KRAYDEN: Kamala Harris’ debate performance was painfully dishonest
What was your takeaway from the Sept. 10 debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris?
Was it Donald Trump’s bleak and frightfully accurate conclusion that the Biden-Harris administration employed “the worst president, the worst vice president in the history of our country” and “everyone knows” Harris is Marxist?
Was it the outrage that ABC News, which only commands a fraction of the audience it once wielded, had been entrusted with the only confrontation between these two candidates?
Was it the disgust with which the moderators, especially David Muir, played favorites in this debate and constantly “fact checked” Trump but not Harris?
Or was it the chronic pain of having to watch Harris constantly giggle, grimace, smile and vigorously shake her head after virtually every Trump comment and look like a teenager on her first date?
Harris performed better than many expected. After all, she is noted for being a public speaker who treats her audience like children while relating obvious facts like Russia is a larger country than Ukraine or delivering meandering aphorisms that aren’t worth the air they momentarily inhabit. At least she didn’t affect one of her phony accents – French or Southern – but just decided to be the consummate phony instead.
But ultimately, Harris was a woman stuffed from head to toe with Democratic talking points. It was as if she had memorized her lines and wanted to deliver them before her memory failed her and the entire script would emerge mangled and jumbled. “If I can just get all this B.S. out in time,” she seemed to be thinking.
And there were times when she did appear to be listening to something. Did she have a microphone in an earpiece? I’m not at all convinced that she was subject to any kind of inspection before mounting that stage and we all know that the Democrats play dirty to win because they honestly believe that they are the only defenders of democracy in America, democracy meaning the rule by elites who know what is best for the masses.
How else can you keep suggesting that you represent the future, that it’s time to “turn the page” and not think you’re the page that needs to be turned. Harris attempted to say that she was part of the Biden-Harris administration but only that part that she imagined to be good. Trump represented the past and she, well, to take a page out of the John F. Kennedy lexicon, she represented “a new generation of leadership.” That was enough to bring on waves of nausea in my gut. The only time she really appeared to be emotionally involved in the debate was during the segment on abortion, where she talked about America in 1924, not 2024, where abortion was not even spoken about in a presidential debate.
But how, in good conscience, can you claim to represent anything but calamity, chaos and disrepute when you had the tie-breaking vote to pass something called the Inflation Reduction Act, that perversely misnomered piece of legislation that actually fueled inflation and paid for countless Democratic projects across the land. How can you even show up for a debate when your administration is responsible for allowing tens of millions of illegal immigrants to cross the southern border into the US and then flying them to their destination of choice? How dare you run for office when your administration has admitted to “losing” 300,000 children, losing being a polite way of saying they’ve been sexually trafficked? By the way, that is a freaking scandal that is even more repugnant than welcoming 25 million illegals at your border. It is a national sin of such consequence that it invites the judgment of God. But there was not a single question about it from these Democratic pawn debate moderators.
Trump talked about the immigration mess, noting how America has “millions of people pouring into our country from prisons and jails, from mental institutions and insane asylums, and they’re coming in, and they’re taking jobs that are occupied right now by African Americans and Hispanics and also unions. Unions are going to be affected very soon. And you see what’s happening. You see what’s happening with towns throughout the United States. You look at Springfield, Ohio. You look at Aurora in Colorado, they are taking over the towns. They’re taking over buildings. They’re going in violently. These are the people that she and Biden let into our country, and they’re destroying our country. They’re dangerous. They’re at the highest level of criminality. And we have to get them out.”
And there was Harris all the time, looking outraged that Trump would be demanding action on this. When he reminded viewers how Harris had actually participated in raising bail money for the rioters in Minnesota, Harris grimaced and vigorously shook her head. She did the same when Trump reminded viewers that Harris was also a vocal advocate of defunding the police. Harris even suggested it was Trump who wanted fewer police officers on the street.
And although Harris pretended to, she doesn’t want to go door to door and confiscate your assault rifles – “We’re not taking anybody’s guns away” – she sure as hell did in 2020, when she was debating Biden during her feeble and febrile run for presidency, Harris wanted to use an executive order to do so. And it was none other than David Muir who was moderating that debate and was pushing the point with Biden and Harris.
“When he says he can do it by executive order. Does the Vice President have a point?” Muir asked as Biden interjected, “There some things you can, many things you can’t.” Muir waves him down and said, “Let’s let the senator answer.” Harris responds, “I mean, I would just say, Hey Joe, instead of saying that we can’t, let’s say yes, we can,” says, cackling loudly. “Yes, we can.”
Harris must have repeated the phrase “turn the page” about 10 times during the debate, most likely because she was told to do so by her handlers. The objective, of course, was to suggest she had nothing to do with the disaster of the last four years, but was merely waiting in the wings to herald a new age of government that will fulfill your every need.
Trump finally addressed that glaring discrepancy in logic in his closing remarks when he stated. “She just started by saying she’s going to do this, she’s going to do that. She’s going to do all these wonderful things. Why hasn’t she done it? She’s been there for three-and-a-half years. They’ve had three-and-a-half years to fix the border. They’ve had three-and-a-half years to create jobs and all the things we talked about. Why hasn’t she done it?” Trump asked.
He suggested that she should “leave right now. Go down to that beautiful White House, go to the Capitol, get everyone together and do the things you want to do, but you haven’t done it and you won’t do it because you believe in things that the American people don’t believe in … We can’t sacrifice our country for the sake of bad vision. But I just ask one simple question, why didn’t she do it? We’re a failing nation. We’re a nation that’s in serious decline. We’re being laughed at all over the world.”
That was a tough admission for a proud American like Trump to make but he saved the best for last. The mainstream media, as represented by these two tendentious moderators, are not only rabidly supporting a war between the US and Russia, they are blithely ignoring the obvious fact that any such war would be nuclear conflict that would leave the world as lifeless and unlivable as it would have in 1954, 1962 or 1984 – at the height of the Cold War. Trump identified the elephant in the room that the mainstream media has been hiding behind the shower curtain.
“We have wars going on in the Middle East. We have wars going on with Russia and Ukraine. We’re going to end up in a third world war, and it will be a war like no other. Because of nuclear weapons, the power of weaponry.”
This debate could prove to be as seminal as that in 1960 between Sen. John F. Kennedy and Vice President Richard Nixon or the 1980 confrontation between President JImmy Carter and former Gov. Ronald Reagan. God help us if Kamala Harris is rewarded for successfully regurgitating her lines when those lines all add up to a massive pack of lies.

French EU commissioner Thierry Breton resigns amid dispute with president after threatening Elon Musk
France’s European Union commissioner Thierry Breton abruptly resigned on Monday amid an ongoing dispute with European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen. He was slated to serve a second term after being re-appointed by French President Emmanuel Macron, The Guardian reports.
Breton stated in a resignation letter that von der Leyen had asked for his name to be withdrawn “for personal reasons that in no instance you [von der Leyen] have discussed directly with me,” adding “In light of these recent developments – further testimony to questionable governance – I have to conclude that I can no longer exercise my duties.”
In addition, Breton quipped about his resignation on X by posting a picture of an empty frame hanging on a wall and writing “Breaking news: my official portrait for the next European Commission term.”
Later in the day, France chose Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne to be the new candidate for EU commissioner, per Reuters.
Von der Leyen is expected to announce her finalized team of commissioners for the executive branch of the EU this week but has been criticized for taking too long. Her goal of having a “gender-balanced” lineup has caused political rows in other member countries such as Slovenia after she pressured its government to withdraw a male candidate.
In August, Breton wrote a strongly worded letter to Elon Musk, threatening “to make full use of our toolbox” if his platform X would not comply with the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) “to protect EU citizens from serious harm.” He posted the letter to X and tagged Musk, writing “with great audience comes greater responsibility #DSA As there is a risk of amplification of potentially harmful content in [the EU] in connection with events with major audience around the world, I sent this letter to
@elonmusk.”

Sinaloa, Mexico sees 19 homicides in only 5 days
Seven killings in just one day. There were 12 more in just four days. That’s life – and death – in the cartel-controlled state of Sinaloa, Mexico. It is just the latest gangland violence there that has transformed this locale into a shooting gallery.
The Sinaloa prosecutor’s office can barely keep up with the murders but on Friday said the latest group of bodies were all found in different locations. Two people were found dead in the capital of Culiacan, and five in the municipality of Concordia – both sites are known as places “where violent events have occurred between criminal groups,” according to Reuters.
Sinaloa, on the Pacific Coast, is the headquarters of the notorious Sinaloa Cartel, an organized crime unit that deals in murder and every kind of trafficking. It was once headed by the infamous Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who is now living rent-free in a US prison. When police arrested another noted cartel figure, Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, in July, anticipation grew over the inevitable turf war.
Soon the kidnappings, assassinations and counter-assassinations began. In Culiacan, the town looks deserted because businesses have all shut their doors and public transport runs very infrequently. Even Mexico’s Independence day has been canceled.
The Sinaloa cartel has been using drones to drop bombs near the Arizona border to attack a rival gang while a drug kingpin connected to the Sinaloa cartel was recently arrested in Oregon. Missiles launched by Lebanese Houthis strikes Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Iranian-backed Houthis would pay a “heavy price” for hitting central Israel with an advanced missile. It is the deepest the military group has penetrated inside Israel, Reuters reported. Israel previously struck Houthi positions in July.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said they had used a new hypersonic ballistic missile that traveled 2,040 km (1270 miles) in just under 12 minutes. An Israeli military official claimed that the missile had been intercepted but had only been broken in-flight and not destroyed. As air raid sirens wailed, the missile hit land at 6:35 a.m. Israeli time.
Missile fragments could be found in local farms and by a railway station. No one was seriously injured in the explosion, although nine people sustained very minor injuries. Retuters reported seeing smoke arising from “an open field.”
At a weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said the Houthis must have assumed that Israel would retaliate and force the Houthis into paying a “heavy price” for their attack on Israel. A Ukrainian cargo ship destroyed a Houthi drone over the Red Sea.
“Whoever needs a reminder of that is invited to visit the Hodeida port,” Netanyahu said, in reference to Israel’s airstrike that killed six and injured 80 in July after a Houthi drone reached as far as Tel Aviv and killed one man. The Houthis continue to fire missiles at Israel because they say they are fighting for the Palestinians who have been killed in the Gaza war that began with a Hamas attack on Israel almost a year ago.
Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea said that Israel should not think this last missile strike was a one shot effort but that more drones and missiles will be coming “as we approach the first anniversary of the Oct. 7 operation, including responding to its aggression on the city of Hodeidah.”
The deputy head of the Houthis’ media office, Nasruddin Amer, said in a post on X on Sunday that the missile hit its target in Israel after “20 missiles failed to intercept” it, saying it is only the “beginning.”

Trump Advisers Ask Staff to ‘Remain Vigilant’ After Assassination Attempt
Senior advisers for former President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign are telling staff to “remain vigilant” in the wake of a second assassination attempt that unfolded on Sunday in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Trump is safe following what the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said was an apparent second assassination attempt against the former president this year. The attempt occurred while he was golfing at Trump International Golf Course. The first assassination attempt was during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July when a bullet struck Trump’s ear and left his face bloodied as he was speaking to the crowd.
Senior campaign advisers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita sent a memo via email to all campaign staff on Sunday evening, per a campaign source who provided the text to Breitbart News.
“Today, for the second time in two months, an evil monster attempted to take the life of President Trump. Thankfully, no one was injured at the Golf Course. President Trump and everyone accompanying him are safe thanks to the great work of the United States Secret Service,” the memo reads.
“This is not a matter that we take lightly. Your safety is always our top priority. We ask that you remain vigilant in your daily comings and goings. Be observant and maintain a constant level of situational awareness,” they continued. “We urge you to always follow direction from law enforcement, including USSS, local police, and office armed security guards.”
Wiles and LaCivita ended by encouraging staff to “Save America” by working together in the remaining weeks before the November presidential election.
“As we enter the last 50 days of President Trump’s campaign, we must remember that we will only be able to Save America from those who seek to destroy it by working together as one team. President Trump and Senator Vance expect the best from us, and we must perform every day, they wrote.
“As always, we are appreciative of your fortitude, strength, and dedication. We will win this November,” the memo said.
Secret Service opened fire at the suspect — now identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58 — after spotting him with an AK-47, Fox News reported. The suspect is now in police custody and his alleged weapon was found in bushes near the golf course.
The alleged would-be Trump assassin on Sunday stood 300-500 yards away from the former president with a scoped rifle, authorities said.

Vance: Trump Is ‘In Good Spirits’ After 2nd Assassination Attempt in 2 Months
Republican vice-presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) said former President Donald Trump is in “good spirits” after what the FBI reports to be a second assassination attempt on the former president in just two months.
Vance took to X Sunday afternoon to share he spoke with Trump before the news of the gunshots at Trump International Golf Course in Palm Beach Sunday afternoon became public.
“I’m glad President Trump is safe. I spoke to him before the news was public and he was, amazingly, in good spirits,” Vance wrote in a post on X.
“Still much we don’t know, but I’ll be hugging my kids extra tight tonight and saying a prayer of gratitude,” he added.
As Breitbart News reported, citing authorities, a U.S. Secret Service agent engaged a man who was stationed a hole ahead of Trump on the course:

Apparently, the agents from the Secret Service travel a hole or two ahead of Trump when he’s golfing to secure the area, and that’s how the U.S. Secret Service was able to encounter the man before he was able to get shots off against Trump.
While taking questions at a press conference alongside the U.S. Secret Service and the FBI, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said that the suspect was approximately 300-500 yards away from Trump.
“But with a rifle and a scope like that, that’s not a long distance,” Bradshaw said.
The FBI confirmed in a statement that it is investigating what it believes to be an attempt on Trump’s life, as Breitbart News noted.
“The FBI has responded to West Palm Beach Florida and is investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination of former President Trump,” the agency said in a statement on Sunday.
The ordeal comes two months after Trump was shot in the ear and nearly assassinated at a rally on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. After being shot, he emerged pumping his fist while shouting, “Fight!” as the Secret Service rushed him to safety.

NBC Confirms Would-Be Trump Assassin’s Name
NBC confirmed the identity of the alleged would-be assassin who authorities took into custody on Sunday after failing an attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life.
“The person in custody whom the Secret Service shot at while he was in possession of a semiautomatic rifle is Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, three senior law enforcement officials briefed on the matter said,” NBC confirmed Sunday.
Attempts have been made to track Ryan Wesley Routh’s social media footprint on Sunday but they remain unconfirmed.

The alleged would-be Trump assassin on Sunday stood 300-500 yards away from the former president with scoped rifle, authorities said.
“How far away was the president when this gentleman was caught,” reporters asked authorities during a press conference on Sunday.
“Probably between 300-500 yards,” said Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw. “But with a rifle and a scope like that, that’s not a long distance.”
As many as four to six shots were fired by the Secret Service. It remains unknown if the would-be assailant returned fire.
As to why the would-be assassin was able to get that close to the former president despite a previous assassination attempt on him in June, the authorities said that the security perimeter could only be so wide due to him being a presidential candidate as opposed to a sitting president.
“You got to understand the golf course is surrounded by shrubbery,” said Bradshaw. “When somebody gets into the shrubbery, they’re pretty much out of sight. At this level [Trump] is at right now, he’s not the sitting president. If he was, we would have the entire golf course surrounded.”
The White House said in a statement, “The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing. They are relieved to know that he is safe. They will be kept regularly updated by their team.”
In a separate post on X, Vice President Kamala Harris said she had been briefed on the incident and added, “I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America.”
“I’m glad President Trump is safe. I spoke to him before the news was public and he was, amazingly, in good spirits. Still much we don’t know, but I’ll be hugging my kids extra tight tonight and saying a prayer of gratitude,” said Trump running mate JD Vance.
“Gwen and I are glad to hear that Donald Trump is safe. Violence has no place in our country. It’s not who we are as a nation,” Kamala Harris’s running mate Tim Walz said on Sunday.

“Pray for President Trump” is trending on X after what appears to be a second foiled assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, as reactions poured in.
Trump is safe after law enforcement responded to West Palm Beach, Florida, after what the FBI says was an apparent second assassination attempt on the former president, roughly two months after he suffered from a gunshot wound to his ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“I pray for comfort for him and his family in the wake of this attempted assassination and an end to the demonization of a good man and his movement. It’s time we unite as Americans and restore Trump to the Oval Office and sanity back to the world,” she added.
“Again folks!” Donald Trump Jr. said of the news, sharing a statement from the Trump campaign.
“Grateful that President Trump, his family, staff, and Secret Service are all safe after the latest shooting attempt. Pray for President Trump and our country,” Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) said, adding, “Pray for President Trump and our country.”
“Pray for President Trump and his family. Pray for our country. Evil will not win,” Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey wrote.
“Anna and I are thankful President Trump is safe, we are grateful for the law enforcement officers protecting him, and we’ll pray God continues to watch over him and our nation,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said.
Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), Trump’s running mate, said he spoke to Trump before the news was public and said the former president is “amazingly, in good spirits.”
“Still much we don’t know, but I’ll be hugging my kids extra tight tonight and saying a prayer of gratitude,” he said.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) urged everyone to “Pray for President Trump,” later adding that opposition will do “anything to stop him from winning.”
“Pray for President Trump. Pray for America. Fight for freedom,” Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) said as others chimed in.

Former President Donald Trump is safe as law enforcement responds to West Palm Beach, Florida, after what the FBI now says was an apparent second assassination attempt against Trump this year.
Trump, who survived a gunshot wound in Butler, Pennsylvania, at a rally in mid-July, was golfing on his course in West Palm Beach on Sunday. Law enforcement officials apparently encountered a man who had attempted to assassinate Trump there.
There are conflicting details and reports pouring out of official and unofficial sources, but Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr. said on social media that an AK-47 was smuggled into the bushes on the golf course.
There are other reports that the man had also smuggled a Go-Pro camera, presumably to film an effort to do so.
Trump’s campaign had said in a statement that Trump is safe after gunshots were fired in his vicinity. It’s unclear who fired the shots, and it’s also unclear at this time what the situation with the alleged gunman is–whether he is alive or dead, in custody or not, and more.
Law enforcement officials, per the U.S. Secret Service, from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office, will soon brief media.

There need to be some pretty serious questions answered in the aftermath of this second assassination attempt against Trump, and how the would-be assassins could have gotten as far along in the processes as they did to go after Trump. One time might seem like a mistake, but two times seems like more than a coincidence. How did these would-be assassins get this close and find these weaknesses in the security plans around Trump and come this close two different times in two different months? Is there something more to it than it looks? People will want to get to the bottom of that question and soon.

Not that anyone would expect Joe Biden to be on the ball on a Sunday afternoon, but the sitting “president of the United States”–if you can really call him that–is still silent on the second assassination attempt against Trump.
The White House, however, did release a statement saying Biden and Vice President Harris (who replaced Biden on the ticket after his abysmal debate performance against Trump) were briefed on this today.

NBC News reports that the suspect, who is in custody, is named Ryan Wesley Routh:
There are lots of rumors floating around about Routh’s social media accounts and more. Those are as of yet unconfirmed but we and other media outlets are working very hard to confirm them.

Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe–no Trump fan–is on CNN detailing that this suspect who’s in custody seems to have had lots of planning to pull this together and that prosecutors and law enforcement will likely be aiming to prove that. McCabe is also saying the distance between Trump and the possible shooter with the scope and this rifle are not that far away.

CNN reports that the suspect’s Go-Pro camera was “mounted on the fence” nearby him where he had these backpacks and the scoped rifle.

Despite the continued threats to Trump’s life, top Democrats like House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries continue to incite leftists against him. AFTER the news had come out that Trump survived another assassination attempt, Jeffries sent out this humdinger of a post on social media:

The U.S. Secret Service official at the press conference said these are “dangerous times,” and that the agency has increased resources used to protect Trump since the first failed assassination attempt against him less than two months ago.
The sheriff’s office official added that the public does not need to panic, and the area is safe. But officials did say for the public to avoid the area around Trump’s golf course for the time being–that being said, the sheriff’s office official said there is a school and post office and other things nearby and law enforcement will make it as easy as possible on local residents.
UPDATE 5:16 p.m. ET:
The FBI’s lead field agent from the Miami field office says that the FBI is now leading the federal side of the investigation. It’s expected that federal charges will be filed against the gunman, but the state attorney also said at the press conference that until that happens there will be warrants and a pre-trial detention motion worked up against the suspect who is currently in custody.
UPDATE 5:15 p.m. ET:
A U.S. Secret Service agent, per the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office, engaged a man who had an AK-47-style rifle with a scope and backpacks and a Go-Pro. The agent apparently shot at the man, who then fled into a black Nissan and took off. A witness, per the sheriff’s office, saw the man fleeing and the vehicle and took pictures of it and the vehicle’s tag. Law enforcement were able to encounter the man and take him into custody on I-95 in Martin County, Florida.
Apparently, the agents from the Secret Service travel a hole or two ahead of Trump when he’s golfing to secure the area, and that’s how the U.S. Secret Service was able to encounter the man before he was able to get shots off against Trump.

The law enforcement press conference at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office just concluded, and it’s clear that this was a second assassination attempt against Trump. More details from the press conference are forthcoming in moments.

Donald Trump Reported Safe After Gunfire Near His Location Trump Reported Safe After Gunshots in Vicinity
Donald Trump is safe after “gunshots in his vicinity,” the Trump campaign said Sunday.
“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity,” Trump campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung said in a statement. “No further details at this time.”
According to one report, the gunshots were fired while Trump was at Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he was golfing today.
Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., said a suspect has been apprehended and an AK-47 rifle was found in the bushes at Trump National, citing law enforcement officials.
Trump was shot in the ear on July 13, 2024, at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, narrowly avoiding death. The Secret Service has been blamed for security failures that day, with the director stepping down under pressure soon after.
This is a developing story.
