BREAKING: Brazil bans X as Supreme Court judge continues war on free speech
Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered the suspension of X, Elon Musk’s social media platform, nationwide on Friday after an ongoing battle over censorship and fines.
The Associated Press obtained a copy of the decision which came after Musk refused to name a legal representative in Brazil and closed all X offices in the country. De Moraes said the platform will remain blocked until a legal representative is appointed. De Moraes first ordered a probe into X over “spreading misinformation” in April and began imposing fines after Musk refused to block certain accounts in Brazil.
X stated on Thursday that they were anticipating being banned in Brazil by de Moraes “simply because we would not comply with his illegal orders to censor his political opponents.”
It added: “When we attempted to defend ourselves in court, Judge de Moraes threatened our Brazilian legal representative with imprisonment. Even after she resigned, he froze all of her bank accounts. Our challenges against his manifestly illegal actions were either dismissed or ignored. Judge de Moraes’ colleagues on the Supreme Court are either unwilling or unable to stand up to him.”
Additionally, Brazilian citizens or companies who attempt to access the platform via VPN will be subject to fines of up to $8,900 per day. App stores and internet service providers will have 5 days to block access to X.
“Elon Musk showed his total disrespect for Brazilian sovereignty and, in particular, for the judiciary, setting himself up as a true supranational entity and immune to the laws of each country,” de Moraes stated.
Musk took to X to react to the ban, stating, “Free speech is the bedrock of democracy and an unelected pseudo-judge in Brazil is destroying it for political purposes” and “The attacks this year on free speech are unprecedented in the 21st century. It will happen in America too if Kamala/Walz gain power. Just listen to what they’ve said.”
“The oppressive regime in Brazil is so afraid of the people learning the truth that they will bankrupt anyone who tries,” he said.

Approximately 126 nations will attend the BRICS Municipal Conference in Russia in October. All countries have indicated interest in joining the bloc and abandoning the US dollar. The number of developing countries that have expressed interest in joining the BRICS alliance – which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – has been increasing as developing countries wish to eliminate their dependence on the US dollar to encourage local currencies for trade.
The attendance of 126 nations at this meeting demonstrates a distinct trend: a large number of countries are reassessing their economic dependence. Jack Posobiec hosted Christy Shamblin, the mother-in-law of one of the soldiers who fell at Abbey Gate during the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal, Sergeant Nicole Gee who rests at the Arlington Cemetary. Shamblin joined Posobiec on Friday’s episode of Human Events Daily. President Donald Trump joined the families for the memorial.. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were invited but did not attend.
She confirmed that President Donald Trump was in fact invited by the Gold Star families to the ceremony held on the anniversary of the Abbey Gate evacuation from Afghanistan to lay a wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier and that she witnessed no altercation between Trump or anyone else during the event.
“When President Trump came graveside to pay his respects and lay flowers at our loved ones’ graves, it was beautiful, so respectful,” she recounted. She reported he spoke very little and listened to the stories from the families the entire time he was there.
Shamblin also told Posobiec that she was dismayed by the backlash from Trump’s visit and called it “disrespectful,” adding that the current Biden-Harris administration was invited to the ceremony as well to show their gratitude and that the families “never heard back from them.”
“Every time we’ve had an interaction with President Trump it’s at the invitation of both parties and we don’t get a response from one party,” she said. “To ignore these heroes that died … cements that it’s going to happen again.”
“I have a lot of family that was able to attend as we always do on the anniversary of our loved one’s death and they were happy to have a picture with the President [Trump],” Shamblin told Posobiec.

Nolte: ‘My Values Haven’t Changed’ Makes Liars of Aides Who Deny Kamala Harris’s Extremist Policies
Perhaps the most revealing moment in incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris’s disastrous CNN interview Thursday night was when she admitted, “My values have not changed,” especially as it relates to the fascist Green New Deal.
Thank you, Kamala, for confirming that your anonymous aides are all lying with those late-night press releases that say you are a Republican now who believes nothing you believed nine weeks ago.
Here’s how it went down…
CNN Chief Kamala Cheerleader Dana Bash threw CacklyMcNeverBorderCzar the softball of all softballs, one that included the answers right there in the question, and, still, we got this:
FAKE JOURNALIST DANA BASH: Generally speaking, how should voters look at some of the changes that you’ve made — that you explained some of here — in your policy? Is it because you have more experience now, and you’ve learned more about the information? Is it because you’re running for president in a Democratic primary? And should they feel comfortable and confident that what you’re saying now is gonna be your policy moving forward?
CACKLYMCNEVERBORDERCZAR: Dana, I think the — the — the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed. You mentioned the Green New Deal. I have always believed — and I have worked on it — that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time.
Deadlines around time… Whatever that means.
Anyway…
This is no gotcha. On three occasions, Kamala said her values had not changed. Three times. Three.
But-but-but via late-night press releases, Kamala’s anonymous aides keep telling us her values have changed. Via those anonymous press releases, we’ve been told Kamala no longer favors an electric vehicle mandate, she is now pro-fracking, she will secure the border and build the “racist” wall, and she will no longer outlaw everyone’s private insurance with “Medicare for All.”
Come on… If her values haven’t changed, her policies in pursuit of those values have not changed.
On one of the most important issues of the election, fracking, an issue near and dear to Pennsylvania, the state that might very well decide the election, Harris outright lied to Bash.
“I made that clear on the debate stage in 2020 that I would not ban fracking,” she said.
No, she didn’t.
That’s a lie.
What she actually said, and she was being very careful at the time, was that Joe Biden would not ban fracking. Only now, when her values have not changed, and she still embraces the Green New Deal (which bans all fossil fuels), is she attempting to claim she is in favor of fracking — which is pure gibberish. You cannot embrace the Green New Deal and embrace fracking. That’s like embracing Disney and embracing protecting children from sexual predators.
Naturally, CNN Chief Kamala Cheerleader Dana Bash did not press Kamala on this obvious contradiction, probably because Bash knew Kamala would melt down in a word salad of cackle.
Remember, Bash had only one goal Thursday night: Protect her own status within the corrupt media by protecting Kamala.
Kamala is lying about everything, as are all those anonymous aides and fake journalists out there trying to make her look like Trans Ronald Reagan.

US Department of Health and Human Services report confirms fluoride exposure is associated with lower IQ in children

This month, a long-delayed and censored report on the toxicity of fluoride was published by the US Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”) National Toxicology Programme (“NTP”).
The report presents a comprehensive evaluation of the scientific evidence associating fluoride exposure with cognitive and neurodevelopmental health effects.
The NTP report was due to be published in May 2022 however senior officials at the HHS intervened and stopped it from being released. Over two years later it has now been published.

It suggests a link between fluoride exposure and lower intelligence quotient (“IQ”) in children. The report found that 72 studies examined the association, with 64 showing an inverse relationship. Even at lower concentrations, fluoride exposure was associated with lower IQ.
It has sparked debate due to its caveats, with some media downplaying the report’s significance. Meanwhile, the evidence continues to pile up that water fluoridation is causing harm to Americans
Long-Delayed US Government Report Finally Released, Concludes Fluoride Lowers IQ in Children

The long-delayed and censored final report from the US National Toxicology Programme (“NTP”) has found “moderate confidence” that fluoride exposure is “consistently associated with lower IQ in children.”
The NTP report has been the source of controversy over the last couple of years as it became clear that elements of the US government were seeking to prevent its release.
The NTP’s final report, also known as a monograph, reported that 72 studies examined the “association between fluoride exposure and IQ in children,” and 64 of those studied found “an inverse relationship associated between estimated fluoride exposure and IQ in children.”
Of the total 72 studies, the NTP considered 19 of those studies to be “high quality,” and of those high-quality studies, 18 “reported an inverse association between estimated fluoride exposure and IQ in children.”
Even among another 53 studies which were considered to be “low-quality” the NTP found that “46 of the 53 low-quality studies [88%] in children also found evidence of an inverse association between estimated fluoride exposure and IQ in children.”
The NTP is run by the US Department of Health and Human Services to coordinate, evaluate and report on toxicology within public agencies, and is headquartered at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (“NIEHS”).
While these conclusions are breaking news to the vast majority of the public, regular readers of The Last American Vagabond (“TLAV”) have been informed of these conclusions since at least 2020 due to our ongoing coverage of this important matter.
Although the conclusion of the final version of the NTP’s monograph is strongly worded, it is likely to continue to be debated due to certain caveats.
For example, the conclusion mentions “higher estimated fluoride exposures,” which the scientists note are at “drinking water fluoride concentrations that exceed the World Health Organisation Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality of 1.5 mg/L of fluoride.” The NTP scientists call for “more studies” to “fully understand the potential for lower fluoride exposure to affect children’s IQ.”
These caveats are already being used by corporate media to downplay the seriousness of the NTP’s conclusions. One of the most widely distributed articles from the Associated Press is headlined, ‘US government report says fluoride at twice the recommended limit is linked to lower IQ in kids’. The mention of “twice the recommended limit” is designed to misinform the public by having them believe the conclusions do not apply to the US government’s currently recommended levels of 0.7 mg/L of fluoride in the water.
However, buried deep within the NTP’s 324-page report, the scientists make it clear they believe their conclusions apply to the US population. They write (emphasis added):
However, because people receive fluoride from multiple sources (not just drinking water), individuals living in areas with optimally fluoridated water can have total fluoride exposures higher than the concentration of their drinking water. In addition, there are people living in the United States who live in areas with naturally occurring fluoride in drinking water that is higher than 1.5 mg/l.
The NTP scientists take it one step further and conclude:
This indicates that the moderate confidence in the inverse association between fluoride exposure and children’s IQ is relevant to some children living in the United States.
These additional statements are extremely important because people will likely consume more fluoride because of the multiple sources of exposure, including in processed foods or by cooking with fluoridated water. This especially applies for pregnant mothers and people with kidney problems who will consume more water than the average person.
NTP Scientist’s Long Battle to Preserve the Science
The release of the NTP report coincides with the ongoing legal battle between the US Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) and the Fluoride Action Network (“FAN”). The lawsuit began following the EPA’s 2016 decision to deny the plaintiff’s petition under the Toxic Substances Control Act (“TSCA”). FAN is attempting to prove that fluoride is a neurotoxin and should be regulated or banned under the TSCA.
The second phase of the fluoride lawsuit concluded in February, but Judge Edward Chen has yet to rule on the matter. Now that the final version of the NTP monograph has been released Chen may soon decide to issue his final ruling.
Michael Connett, the lead attorney representing the FAN, told TLAV the NTP’s finding confirms what previous data has shown relating to fluoride and IQ.
“NTP’s landmark report confirms that there is a large, consistent, and reliable body of scientific research linking fluoride to reduced IQ, and that the doses associated with lower IQ are precariously close to what hundreds of millions of Americans consume every day,” Connett said via text message.
Adding, “This isn’t what people signed up for when we started adding fluoride to the water. We didn’t sign up to add a neurotoxicant to our water. We signed up for something that could help our teeth. Now that we know that it can affect our brain, we really need to go back to square one on this.”
Emails released in early January 2023 as part of the lawsuit reveal that various elements of the US government appear to have been involved in a concerted effort to block the release of the NTP draft report – a report which concluded fluoride is linked to lower IQ in children.
The emails show that NTP scientists believed their work was completed and set a date for May 2022 for publication. However, leadership at the top levels of the Department of Health and Human Services intervened to stop the report from being released.

Ukraine announces special investigation into crash of F-16 that occurred during Russian attack
An unspecified crash on Monday resulted in the loss of one of Ukraine’s US-made Lockheed Martin F-16s that had been gifted to the country by foreign allies. The pilot, Lt. Col. Oleksii Mes, was also killed in the incident.
The Ukrainian government said the crash occurred while its Air Force had been repelling a missile strike by the Russian Federation on Ukrainian territory. The fighter jet was reportedly not shot down but suffered disasters that caused it to crash. A special commission has been appointed to determine the causes of the accident.
This comes after the country recently received its first delivery of the 85 supplied F-16s from Belgium, Denmark, The Netherlands, and Norway. They were dispatched to assist in the defense of Ukrainian cities from the largest-ever Russian air raid, which involved drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles.
“During the repelling of a missile strike by the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, together with units of anti-aircraft missile troops, F-16 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were used. In the course of air combat, F-16 aircraft demonstrated their high effectiveness, with board weapons shot down four enemy-wing missiles,” the general staff said. “During the event to the next target, contact was lost with one of the planes. As appeared later, the plane suffered disasters, the pilot died. A special commission of the MOU that works in the area of the plane crash has been appointed to determine the causes of the crash.”
The number of Russian drones and missiles that Ukrainian troops destroyed on Monday increased to 201 thanks to the missiles that the F-16s shot down. However, a large number of Russian weapons managed to breach Ukraine’s defenses, killing four people and seriously harming the nation’s electrical infrastructure.
It appears that Mes was preparing his F-16 for a strike on approaching Russian missiles when the aircraft lost communication with ground-based radar operators, as per a report from Forbes. Rescuers located the crash site and verified Mes’s death. The Ukrainian Air Force said, “He saved countless Ukrainians from deadly Russian missiles, tragically at the cost of his own life.”
Mes trained on the F-16 in Denmark for several months. He was one of the initial, few qualified pilots to appear in Ukraine, along with the initial batch of jets. Dozens of additional Ukrainian pilots are currently undergoing training in Romania and Arizona, and they are expected to return to Ukraine concurrently with the arrival of the additional aircraft.

Zelensky dismisses Ukraine air force commander after F-16 crash
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday dismissed the country’s air force chief, a day after Kyiv said a US-made F-16 fighter jet had crashed in combat, killing the pilot.
In a video message Zelensky said he had “decided to replace the commander of the air force” to strengthen Ukraine’s military leadership.
His office earlier published a presidential decree to officially remove Mykola Oleshchuk from the post.
The crash of the F-16 was a high-profile setback for Kyiv, which had lobbied the West to send the advanced fighter jet for months.
It was the first reported loss, just weeks after Ukraine first started taking delivery of the supersonic aircraft.
The military had said the plane and pilot crashed during a combat mission earlier this week after having shot down incoming Russian missiles.
Lawmaker Mariana Bezugla, who sits on a parliamentary defence, security and intelligence committee, claimed the F-16 was shot down by Ukraine’s own air defence systems in a case of friendly fire.
In response to those allegations Oleshchuk earlier on Friday accused her of trying to discredit Ukraine’s military leaders, and said a full investigation into the incident was underway.
Zelensky did not provide further details on why he had decided to replace his air force commander, saying only that his command team “needed to get stronger”.
Lieutenant General Anatolii Kryvonozhko, who leads the air force’s operations in the central part of Ukraine, would temporarily assume the role of overall commander, the air force said.
It is not the first time Zelensky has removed a senior military leader.
Earlier this year he removed popular commander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny.
He was replaced with Oleksandr Syrsky, who masterminded leading Ukraine’s shock counter-attack into Russia’s western Kursk region.
